Ragtime Poetry Co.

The Ragtime Poetry Co. is a luxury poetry company based in New Orleans that provides entertainment at weddings, corporate events, and more. We write poetry on antique typewriters and provide truly unique, high-class entertainment for a sophisticated audience.

We have a team of professional typewriter poets who arrive dressed in vintage Jazz Age clothing carrying classic typewriters—some a century old. Anyone can come up to them with a topic and request a poem. Within 1 to 2 minutes, the guests walk away with an original poem written just for them.

The entertainment we provide is highly interactive. Guests share a part of themselves with the poet and become real collaborators in the artistic process resulting in something entirely unique and meaningful each time.

When the evening is over, guests will literally take a piece of the event home with them. And because the poems we write are often framed and cherished by guests, the event will sparkle in peoples’ minds every time they see our poem on their office desk or hanging on the wall of their home—sometimes for years to come.
