The Starlight New Orleans
The Creole Cottage built in 1779 was home to the Bacas family for 200 years. A family of woodworkers, the Bacas also built the choir loft in St. Louis Cathedral and other historic interiors. Hermann-Grima was godfather to Barthelemy Bacas. Much of the original woodwork is intact, the grand staircase leads to a second floor private venue with a balcony overlooking the Herman Grimma courtyard.
In the heart of it all, half a block from Bourbon Street but a genial world away, The Starlight embodies true classic French Quarter history and charm. At street level is an intimate music venue featuring the best in local Jazz, Blues and Americana artists with some whimsical nights of Burlesque and the other Variety thrown in the mix. Avila Grill serves authentic Venezuelan food from a kitchen in the covered back courtyard.
